Investment casting, also known as "lost wax casting," involves coating the wax pattern with several layers of refractory material. After hardening and drying, the wax is melted out to create a mold shell, which is then fired and poured with molten metal to produce the casting. This method is highly regarded for its dimensional accuracy and surface finish, earning it the name "investment precision casting."
